Meet Our Students

From the Lions Mouth:
“The Core is the foundation for the strong, well-rounded education that Columbia provides; it is a springboard for intellectual thought, discussion and curiosity. I’ve enjoyed reading works that have been the basis for classical education for centuries, but also examining contemporary interpretations of these classics by reading works by other diverse authors.”
My Columbia Day:
  • 9:10 a.m.

Discuss important works in conversational Spanish in Short Fiction in Latin American.

  • 11:00 a.m.

Take a break by heading to Dodge Fitness for my Physical Education class, Strength Training.

  • 12:00 p.m.

Grab some dumplings at Café 212 with the president of Project Sunshine, a national organization that tutors and befriends hospitalized children. I’m serving as treasurer this year.

  • 1:00 p.m.

Meet with the other editors of Helvidius, the Journal of Politics and Society, to plan our upcoming issue. I’ve really enjoyed working with students from many different academic fields and interests to produce a journal that is truly unique.

  • 4:10 p.m.

Go to my Romans and their Empire class before having a $5 burger in the 1950’s booths at Deluxe.

  • 7:00 p.m.

Attend a production meeting with Columbia Television’s talk show, Sofa. I’ve had the opportunity to try my hand at television in a way no other internship could have allowed – I’ve hosted, edited, written and will serve as a producer this fall.
