“My academic experience at Columbia has been nothing but stellar. One of my favorite parts of studying at Columbia has been taking Core Classes. I have taken some great classes like Literature Humanities, Art Humanities and Music Humanities, which have broadened my horizons and allowed me to experience concerts at Carnegie Hall and trips to Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Core has also allowed me to meet and become friends with students who are not just majoring in the sciences. ”

Go to Introduction to Electricity, Magnetism, and Optics, where we are discussing magnetic fields and currents.

4:00 p.m.
Meet with my faculty advisor, Professor Virginia Cornish (CC ’91), from my Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) that I held this past summer. I’ve conducted research on organic chemistry with her for several semesters after reaching out to her once I arrived on campus.

7:00 p.m.
Have dinner at Pisticci to get the best pasta in the area with my friends from the CU Culinary Society – where else would we meet but in a delicious restaurant?

9:30 p.m.
End my day with a vigorous practice with the women’s water polo club, a way for me to continue my love of swimming and stay involved with a club team. I’ve enjoyed having the chance to travel within New York State for tournaments, but still balance my schedule to be both a student and an athlete.
