Rachel G. Water Polo

Rachel G.

Major: Biochemistry
From the Lions Mouth:
“During my sophomore year, I lived in Schapiro which is on 115th Street between Broadway and Riverside. Living in an upperclass residence hall was enjoyable because it allowed me to experience more of what New York City life has to offer.”
My Extracurricular Activities:
My Columbia Day:
  • Go to Introduction to Electricity, Magnetism, and Optics, where we are discussing magnetic fields and currents.

  • Meet with my faculty advisor, Professor Virginia Cornish ’91CC, from my Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) that I held this past summer. I’ve conducted research on organic chemistry with her for several semesters after reaching out to her once I arrived on campus.

  • Have dinner at Pisticci to get the best pasta in the area with my friends from the CU Culinary Society – where else would we meet but in a delicious restaurant?

  • End my day with a vigorous practice with the women’s water polo club, a way for me to continue my love of swimming and stay involved with a club team. I’ve enjoyed having the chance to travel within New York State for tournaments, but still balance my schedule to be both a student and an athlete.
