Sruti S.

From the Lions Mouth:
“I lived in Carman, which allowed me to learn a lot from my three suitemates (who were all completely different from me). It was great to bond over the Core, school or whatever we were doing; some of the best times were talking and eating pizza while doing our laundry.”
My Extracurricular Activities:
My Columbia Day:
  • 10:00 a.m.

Take in the conversation in my Intermediate French II course.

  • 11:00 a.m.

Discuss the United Nations and its organizations for emergency response in Law, Ethics, and Policy of International Intervention, a Political Science seminar.

  • 2:00 p.m.

Meet with the Academic Awards Committee (AAC). Each year, the AAC presents the Van Doren and Trilling Awards to distinguished Columbia professors. Being involved with the AAC is an amazing way to take advantage of Columbia’s academic sphere;  I get to sit in on classes that I can’t fit into my schedule, and read books by professors aross several fields.

  • 4:10 p.m.

Argue both for and against the issue of government support of free speech in President Bollinger’s course, Freedom of Speech and Press.

  • 6:10 p.m.

Attend Introduction to Statistics, taught by Professor Sheela Kolluri.

  • 8:00 p.m.

Head downtown with friends to grab dinner at Ignazio’s Pizza in Brooklyn - the pizza is fabulous, and the view of the Manhattan skyline is unbeatable.
