Columbia Engineering Experience
Columbia University, one of the oldest and most culturally diverse schools in the country, is known for its distinctive approach to an engineering education. Columbia Engineers receive not only a first-class foundation in math, science and engineering, but are also educated in Columbia’s renowned liberal arts Core Curriculum. They learn from innovative and accomplished faculty in every field, surrounded by the brightest minds in the world. By combining technical expertise, socially responsible leadership and innovative entrepreneurship, Columbia Engineers go on to improve the world locally, nationally and globally. We call this Engineering for Humanity.
Each fall, Columbia Engineering offers a selective program designed for high school seniors who are interested in learning about our unique engineering education. This fall, the Columbia Engineering Experience will be offered virtually. Admission remains highly selective. The application is available now and the deadline to apply is Monday, August 31.

This fall, Columbia Engineering will offer two sessions of the Columbia Engineering Experience with exclusive virtual programming designed for high school seniors who are interested in engineering. Each session will include three to four hours of live, interactive programming on two weekends, as well as recorded content from Columbia faculty, staff and students to explore during the week. Events for each session will be held over the following dates:
Session A: Saturday, September 19 - Saturday, October 3
Session B: Saturday, October 3 - Saturday, October 17
Students selected for the program will participate in Session A or Session B based on capacity and student preference.
All live events will take place via Zoom and will be interactive. We expect students to come prepared to ask questions and be on camera, whenever possible. Please note that this programming is exclusively for students who have been selected for the program.

- Students who will be the first generation in their family to attend college
- Students from underserved and rural communities
