From the Lions Mouth
“My favorite Columbia tradition is Primal Scream Night. At midnight on the Sunday night during fall and spring semester finals, shrieks and screams invade Morningside Heights. All of the students open up their windows and scream for about five minutes straight to get out their frustrations with studying. ”
My Extracurricular Activities
My Columbia Day
  • Go to Introduction to Electricity, Magnetism, and Optics, where we are discussing magnetic fields and currents.

  • Meet with my faculty advisor, Professor Virginia Cornish '91CC, from my Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) that I held this past summer. I’ve conducted research on organic chemistry with her for several semesters after reaching out to her once I arrived on campus.

  • Have dinner at Pisticci to get the best pasta in the area with my friends from the CU Culinary Society – where else would we meet but in a delicious restaurant?

  • End my day with a vigorous practice with the women’s water polo club, a way for me to continue my love of swimming and stay involved with a club team. I’ve enjoyed having the chance to travel within New York State for tournaments, but still balance my schedule to be both a student and an athlete.
