Under the supervision of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Recruitment Committees (’RCs) serve as representatives for Columbia College and Columbia Engineering and assist in outreach to prospective and admitted students. The three ’RCs are selective student organizations developed to introduce and exemplify the Columbia undergraduate experience to high school students. Members of the ’RCs are critical to the success of the Columbia admissions process and offer current students the opportunity to help shape the future of our Columbia community.

Global Recruitment Committee - Learn More
The Global Recruitment Committee (GRC) plays a vital role in the recruitment and yield of prospective students whose geographic backgrounds qualify them as foreign and/or international citizens. GRC members work closely with admissions staff to serve as a voice for global students throughout the admissions process.

Multicultural Recruitment Committee - Learn More
The Multicultural Recruitment Committee was formed in the 1960s by Columbia students to better engage diversity and multiculturalism during the undergraduate admissions process. Today, members of the MRC assist the admissions staff as they identify, recruit and yield students from historically underrepresented groups (students of color, first-generation college students, students from high-need backgrounds and LGBTQIA students).
MRC members work closely with the Admissions Office to serve as a voice for underrepresented communities, staff multicultural recruitment events, work on programs directly related to student access at Columbia and assist with Days on Campus and Perspectives on Diversity. Undergraduate Recruitment Committee - Learn More
The Undergraduate Recruitment Committee is responsible for sharing the Columbia undergraduate experience with prospective students, families and visitors. URC members are primarily trained as campus tour guides and work closely with the Visitors Center.
