Columbia Announces Class of 2029 Admissions Decisions

Columbia Undergraduate Admissions is happy to share that 2,557 students have been offered admission to Columbia College and The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science’s Classes of 2029.

These students were selected from one of the largest applicant pools in Columbia’s history. In total, 59,616 students chose to apply through the Early Decision and Regular Decision cycles.

The admitted class—notified of their decision via secure online access tonight at 7 p.m.—includes students from all 50 states (as well as American Samoa, the District of Columbia, Guam, the Mariana Islands and Puerto Rico) and 115 countries. Approximately half of admitted students thus far have been offered financial aid. Columbia is committed to covering students’ full demonstrated need, without loans and regardless of citizenship.

“Beyond their impressive academic, extracurricular and personal talents and accomplishments, these admitted students inspired me and my colleagues with their determination, intellectualism, curiosity and integrity,” said Jessica Marinaccio, dean of undergraduate admissions and financial aid. “The members of the admitted Class of 2029 have extraordinary personal qualities that shine in so many ways: through their commitment to their communities, their courage to innovate, an eagerness to engage in thoughtful discourse, and the interdisciplinary spirit with which they approach learning and life.”

Throughout the month of April, Columbia will provide dozens of in-person and virtual events, including alumni-hosted receptions in locations around the world, designed to help admitted students and their families meet their future classmates and discover the unparalleled opportunities that await them at Columbia.

“We in admissions understand how much of themselves the students who were admitted today put into their applications. We were honored to have the chance to get to know them, and now we are preparing to help them see themselves here as Columbians,” Marinaccio said. “We are thrilled to welcome this incredible class of students and future leaders."
