Third Wheel Improv

Third Wheel Improv is a co-ed improv comedy group at Columbia/Barnard that does both longform and shortform improv. They perform 5-10 times each semester at venues on and off campus. Each fall, they host the Spare Tires Improv Festival, a two-day improv festival held over two nights in the Lerner Black Box Theater. Groups from Columbia/Barnard and other universities are invited to perform and participate in a workshop with a professional improviser. Third Wheel was founded on the basis of inclusivity on Columbia’s campus, so for one hour each week they hold Rehearsal Squad, a portion of our regular rehearsal where anyone who wants to can come hang out and do improv with the group. Auditions are held at the beginning of the year. Membership is open to all undergraduate students at Columbia University.

If you believe in yourself, you, too, can be a dominant third wheel.
