Columbia Students for Global Health Equity and Medicine (GHEM)

Founded in 2008, GlobeMed at Columbia is one of 46 GlobeMed chapters working to improve the health of people living in poverty around the world. It partners with Gulu Women’s Economic Development and Globalization, a human rights organization based in Gulu, Uganda, to provide health services, economic empowerment, psychosocial support and human rights advocacy for the communities surrounding Gulu.

GendeRevolution

GendeRevolution (GendeRev/GR) is the trans support and advocacy group of Columbia University and Barnard College. It aims to create safe spaces and advocacy for trans and queer people on campus while raising awareness of the variety of trans identities and experiences. GendeRevolution embraces an intersectional approach to social justice.

College Democrats

Columbia University Democrats is one of the largest undergraduate political organizations on campus. It aims to promote progressive causes, discuss issues and plan activism on campus, in New York City and across the country.

Amnesty International

Founded as the Columbia and Barnard chapter of Amnesty International, the organization seeks to keep the Columbia University community informed about human rights violations around the world and to promote student action through letter-writing, hosting speakers, facilitating discussions, fundraising and building colations with other student groups.

Barnard-Columbia Socialists

Barnard-Columbia Socialists is a group of students, workers and other members of the University community who agree on the need to organize against all forms of exploitation and oppression. The group aims to fight for and build a socialist alternative that puts people before profits.
