Senior Fly-In Applications Now Available

Applications for Columbia's fall fly-in programs, the Small-Town and Rural Students (STARS) Fly-In at Columbia and the Engineering Preview at Columbia (EPC), are now available. Rising high school seniors with a genuine appreciation for the vibrant Columbia community are encouraged to apply. Both programs include funded travel and hotel arrangements for the student and one/parent guardian to attend.

The deadline to apply is Monday, July 21, 2025. Due to the selectivity and limited size of the programs, a school-issued transcript is required. Unofficial copies, such as those provided by a counselor or printed from an online grades portal, are sufficient. Please note that students may only apply to one of the Columbia fly-in programs.

Apply to one of Columbia's fly-in programs by Monday, July 21, 2025.

During the fall fly-in programs, participants will meet members of the Columbia community, including both faculty and current students, experience the intellectual, cultural and career opportunities available in New York City, and learn more about the admissions process through workshops conducted by Columbia Undergraduate Admissions and Columbia Financial Aid & Educational Financing staff.

EPC was created to encourage high-achieving rising high school seniors from low-income backgrounds to explore an engineering education at Columbia. EPC will be held from Sunday, October 12, to Tuesday, October 14, 2025. Please note that the program is designed for rising high school seniors who have exemplary academic records, particularly in math and science, and may have had less exposure to the fields of engineering and applied science.

The STARS Fly-In was created to encourage high-achieving rising high school seniors from rural and small town backgrounds to explore an undergraduate education in New York City at Columbia. The STARS Fly-In will be held from Saturday, October 18, to Monday, October 20, 2025. Please note the program is designed for rising high school seniors who have exemplary academic records and have primarily grown up in rural areas or small towns that are underserved in higher education.

Both fly-in programs feature similar opportunities, but some programming will differ as a result of the different program audiences. Students should only apply to one program. Visit the program pages for additional information about the event and application.
