David Kipping received his B.A. and M.Sc. in Natural Sciences at Cambridge University, UK followed by a Ph.D. from University College London, UK. Before joining Columbia University, Kipping spent time at Harvard as a postdoc through the Sagan and Menzel fellowships. His research is focused on extrasolar planets, moons and rings, stellar rotation, granulation and limb darkening, and astrostatistics.
